Role Overview
GIS360 is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, test, integrate, deploy and maintain scalable software solutions for enterprise and international client environments.
You will participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including technical analysis, solution design, development, API integration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation and ongoing application support.
This is a full-time hybrid/on-site role based in Portugal, with collaboration across GIS360 operations in Beja, Lisbon and Porto and occasional client-site activity when required by a project.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain secure software applications.
- Translate business and technical requirements into reliable, maintainable software solutions.
- Develop clean, reusable code using appropriate engineering patterns and standards.
- Develop and consume REST APIs, integration services and backend components.
- Design and maintain application components, services and data-access layers.
- Integrate applications with relational databases, enterprise platforms and external systems.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Write and maintain unit, integration and appropriate automated tests.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain source code and release history using Git-based version control.
- Support CI/CD, build, release and software deployment processes.
- Assist with cloud-based application deployment, monitoring and maintenance.
- Apply security, privacy and data-protection principles throughout the development lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain technical, operational and integration documentation.
- Support production applications and resolve technical incidents.
- Collaborate with developers, database engineers, infrastructure teams, ERP consultants, project managers and client teams.
- Contribute to software architecture and reusable engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related technical field.
- At least three years of professional software-development experience.
- Experience developing, deploying and supporting production applications.
- Experience working in enterprise or international technical environments.
- Strong professional English communication skills.
- Strong professional experience in one or more of C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or PHP.
- Practical experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- SQL, relational databases and application data integration.
- Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Object-oriented programming and sound software-design principles.
- Debugging, testing, root-cause analysis and production support.
- Understanding of web-application architecture, secure development and maintainable code practices.

- Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps and cloud application services.
- Docker, Kubernetes, microservices and CI/CD pipelines.
- React, Angular or Node.js.
- SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis or message-queue technologies.
